A Kanjivaram Saree is a type of sari traditionally made by weavers from Kanchipuram located in Tamil Nadu. Popularly known as The Silk City, Kanchipuram is referred to as South India's answer to Banarasi saris.

These are woven naturally and distinguished by their wide contrast borders. Temple borders, checks, stripes and floral (buttas) are traditional designs found on a Kanchipuram sarees.
